April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her musical journey as a 7th grader in which she began guitar and piano classes. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her first song Different. She spent lots of time when she was 14 making songs and practicing music. The following months, she began taking writing excursions with her father in LA and NY. April began also to incorporate additional topics that were related to of her peers who are dealing in the area of bullying by peers and teen suicide in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart also has an ever-growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger and works for popular Clean Beauty company Ilia. Her birthplace didn't come with a left hand, and that is why she's the person she is. But that's far from all the facts. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not conceal her being disabled and does not focus on it. What message does it convey? That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her physical disability. She does not want to become a disability advocate who only talks about that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. But it does not affect my day-to-day routine. I continue to do the normal things and I've adapted to the limitations of my disability. However, it's a component of me, so I believe that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart has served as an excellent source of inspiration for her female friends in the area of acceptance of oneself. However, she admits to going through phases of insecurity with her physique and being uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which exposed her arms. She dresses according to her preferences and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she chooses on social media. For her, self-love is a long process. It's the same for everybody regardless of how much they are afraid. It's my opinion that having those around you who really are aware of you and know your feelings is crucial as they'll be the ones who remind you What are you concerned about?
