Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on November 12, 1961, within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she is the only person to be awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci participated for the first time in the national junior championships and finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. In her very first international event in 1972 she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. The athlete won four golds and one silver in her debut competition as a senior that took place in 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an older senior. In 1976, she was the first female athlete in the world to utilize a reversed double salto to dismount from the parallel bars. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment as a teenager. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice skating shows which included stage performances.
